Artist's edition, 1970.
Limited edition of 80 copies.
Perfect condition.
Provenance: Galerie Durand Dessert, Paris.
Rare and sought after
The small artist's books simply titled "Bild" or "Bilder" that H. P. Feldmann produced between 1968 and 1976 are the most important artists' books of the 20th century, alongside those by Ed Ruscha and Christian Boltanski.
Great simplicity and lack of artifice in these publications.
These are invariably modest in size, most often with a brown cover reminiscent of school exercise books.
They consist of a varying number of photographs on a particular theme.
Bibliography
-H. P Feldmann: The Museum in the Mind, Walther König 1989.
-Martin Parr: the photobook, volume 2, page 158.
-Hans Peter Feldmann: Books, Publications, Issues 1960-2021
Edition Walther Konig 2023 reproduces pages 8 and 9.
