Vintage accordion-style wooden sewing chest with legs. This type is often referred to as a "cantilever" or "fold-out" sewing or craft box.
Features
Type: Has a fold-out (accordion) mechanism that allows the tiers to open wide for easy access to the contents.
Material: Typically made of wood, as shown in the picture.
Design: Stands on two turned wooden legs, stabilized by a connecting piece at the bottom, giving it the appearance of a basket or table. There is also a vertical handle on the top for portability.
Period: These pieces often date from the mid-20th century, the 1950s or 1960s, and represent the retro or mid-century design style.
Function: Mainly used for neatly storing sewing or craft supplies, such as yarn, needles, scissors and other small items.
It is 60 cm wide when folded and up to 130 cm wide when opened.
It is in vintage condition, with signs of use.
