Description from the seller
This was Elvis Presley's favorite watch.
This version is quite rare because it was originally intended solely as a distinction... a reward for loyal service... like this example... 'Awardwatch'.
The reference number also confirms this.
More information about this can be found on the website: Unwind in Time.
The watch is the original Hamilton caliber 505... it runs nicely on time.
The width is 31.8 mm, excluding the crown... the length is 49.6 mm.
This type was the first electric watch and marked the transition from mechanical to quartz.
It has both a rotating balance and a battery (recently replaced).
It is in very good condition, with only minor signs of use.
The original glass is also scratch-free.
Except for the bracelet, which has been replaced over the years with a black lizard leather strap (suitable for wrists up to 20 cm in circumference), the watch is still completely original... even the crown.
The 14 kt. solid gold watch weighs a total of 41 grams and was produced at a time when solid gold watches still had a thick gold case... the separate back of the case already weighs 6 grams.
In short: a very special appearance... an iconic model designed by Richard Arbib, the renowned American industrial designer from the 50s and 60s.
This exclusive watch should not be confused with later reproductions featuring a standard quartz movement!
It was awarded on February 28, 1964, by Kraft Foods to B.Mc.W. for 25 years of service.
It comes in a black neutral watch storage box with Hamilton stickers.
Definitely suitable for just wearing... but the display case is also an option.
Nowadays, this men's watch naturally also fits a woman's wrist... on every wrist, an eye-catching piece and a talking point.
It will be shipped with good insurance.
