Description from the seller

Magnificent and important pair of porcelain vases in Sèvres style dating from the 19th century, during the Napoleonic III era. These vases were very popular among European aristocracy at the time for their elegant shapes and rich decorations. The craftsmanship is porcelain with a vibrant blue background and features an elaborate gilded bronze mount. They are made in the style of the renowned Sèvres National Manufactory, one of Europe's leading porcelain manufacturers. The main characteristic is the hand-painted gallant or mythological scene on the body of the vase, depicting female figures and a putto (cherub) in a landscape. Similar scenes were often inspired by Rococo painters such as François Boucher.
