Superb set, complete in 5 volumes, of the 1846 edition of the famous "Abrégé de l’Histoire Ancienne".
Published by the prestigious Lyon-based house Perisse Frères, this work is distinguished by its very beautiful antique half-leather binding and the presence of an engraved map inserted outside the text.
A remarkable witness to the history of education in France during the 19th century, in an exceptional state of preservation.

• Format: 5 volumes in-12 (18 x 11 cm), constituting the complete series.
Binding
Elegant antique binding (circa 1846) in half-blonde Morocco leather.
Smooth surfaces adorned with titles, finials, and gold geometric rosettes, very decorative.
Surfaces covered with paper with cold-embossed patterns.
Illustrations :
Volume III is enhanced with a beautiful fold-out map engraved on copper depicting the 'Siege of Tyre and Phoenicia,' in excellent condition.
General condition:
Very good condition. The bindings are solid, the leather is soft, and the gilding is still vibrant.
Very minimal wear at the corners and edges, normal for a book of nearly 180 years.
Fresh interior, with the usual age-related reddish marks that remain light and sparse, in no way affecting readability.
A well-rounded and homogeneous ensemble.
Will be shipped securely, well packaged in shock-absorbing materials (reinforced bubble wrap + rigid cardboard).
