A rare Val Saint Lambert mid‑century modern crystal vase with violet tones set in clear crystal, stamped Val Saint Lambert under the base and dating from about 1950–1960, measuring 19 cm high, 19.5 cm wide, 13.5 cm deep and weighing 4.5 kg, in good condition with some wear and age marks, originating from Seraing, Belgium.
Description from the seller
Magnificent and rare violet double-crystal vase, Val Saint Lambert, circa 1950–1960.
Elegant thick crystal vase featuring an organic shape with sculpted walls and a deep violet hue embedded in clear crystal. The decor plays with faceted planes and tense curves, creating strong contrasts of light and highlighting the richness of the color, characteristic of VSL productions from the mid-20th century.
This piece aligns with the modernist creations of the post-war period, where Val Saint Lambert explores massive volumes, intense colors, and a work of crystal focused on depth and transparency. The style evokes certain productions comparable to those of Murano from the same period, while maintaining the formal identity and technical rigor characteristic of Belgian crystalware.
Signature: engraved 'Val Saint Lambert' beneath the base.
Condition: good overall condition, presence of numerous visible signs of wear and scratches, without chips or cracks.
Designer: René Delvenne
Dimensions: Height: 19 cm – Width: 19.5 cm
Origin: Val Saint Lambert, Belgium
Period: around 1950–1960
An authentic and decorative piece with a strong visual impact, ideal for fans of colored crystal and mid-century design.
