Olivetti Lettera 22 typewriter designed by Marcello Nizzoli, in good used condition with minor age‑related marks and a wooden desk cover, dimensions 32 cm wide by 29 cm deep by 8 cm high, weighs 4 kg, and is in working order, made in Italy.
Description from the seller
Works as shown in the images, with a wooden desk cover.
The size and weight are among the main reasons for the success of this typewriter: compactness and practicality. It is 32.4 cm wide, 29.8 cm deep, and only 8.3 cm high. The total weight is 4 kg.
Keyboard. Like all typewriters of the era, the adopted keyboard is of the Qzerty type (different from current PC keyboards). Next to the letter and number keys, there is a space bar (whose size is minimized compared to other models), two shift keys, one to lock the shift, a return key, and a tab key. However, the number 1 and 0 keys are missing, as well as those with accented letters.
Mechanism of operation. The Lettera 22 is a typewriter with pressure levers. This means that when a key is pressed, the corresponding hammer strikes the inked ribbon (red or black) and leaves its mark on the paper.
