Ad Snijders was a Dutch artist, draftsman, collagist, and sculptor. He joined Kunstkring de Kempen in 1947 as one of its youngest members. Recognized by the French government, he received a scholarship from them and studied at the prestigious Académie de la Grande Chaumière in Paris in 1961 and 1962.
In 1949, he held his first exhibition under the attention of the press. Ad Snijders was a member of the Professional Association of Visual Artists (BBK). His work can be found in the collections of museums and private collectors. His work was also exhibited in leading museums such as the Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, the Museum Fodor, and the Museum Jan Cunen in Oss.
In 1959, he exhibited at Galerie Taurus in Nijmegen, among others, together with artists Armando and Kees van Bohemen. A year later, his work was selected for the Premio Marzotto in Valdagno, Italy. Here, he exhibited alongside, among others, Corneille and Lucebert.
In 1984, he opened his own gallery called Thornfield, where he held an exhibition six times a year. Under his studio, he offered young artists a space to showcase their art.
