Snuff bottle (3) - Metal

Antique Chinese snuff bottles made with turquoise and coral.

Beautiful antique Chinese snuff bottles, made of silver and richly decorated with turquoise and coral cabochons. The object is handcrafted and engraved with a classical Chinese mythological scene, surrounded by cloud motifs and ornamental border decorations.

The snuiffles is complete with the original spoon, which is becoming increasingly rare for this type of object. The spoon and stopper are unmistakably part of each other. The other bottle is a beautiful decorative miniature bottle in Tibetan/Nepalese inspired style, made of brass and richly decorated with filigree work and inlaid cabochon stones. The warm orange-brown stones are presumably carnelian or agate, combined with small turquoise-colored stones.
The third bottle is

Decorative snuff or perfume bottle in Chinese/Tibetan style, made of white metal (possibly silver-plated) and richly decorated with relief representations of dragons and floral motifs. The bottle rests on a matching foot and is detailed throughout.

On the front, there is an inlaid orange cabochon (probably coral or imitation coral). The cap is decorated with a turquoise-colored stone, and a chain is attached at the neck, as is customary with snuff bottles.

The base is marked with two Chinese characters in cartouches, typical of maker's or atelier marks from West China / Tibetan influence. This type of hallmark is associated with artisanal silverware from the late Qing period to the early Republic of China. Silver (uncurbed, traditional Chinese silver).
