French 4/4 violin bow stamped Collin Mezin, in good condition with new hair and silver winding, length 74.4 cm, weight 63 g, materials ebony, silver, Pernambuco wood and mother‑of‑pearl, frog with a minor crack but fully playable, tested and functional.
Description from the seller
Good, old French 4/4 violin bow, with new hair and silver winding, bears the brand stamp, COLLI MEZIN A PARIS. The stick is made of brown Pernambuco wood, is completely straight, and has excellent properties, hardness, and elasticity at the same time. The total length is 74.4 cm, with a balance point of 26 cm and a weight of 63 g. The stick wood is in excellent condition; only the button on the screw has signs of wear, and the mother-of-pearl plate on the frog has a slight crack, but both do not affect the playability and quality of the bow. It has excellent playing characteristics, grips well, and both high and low tones are equally balanced.
Violins and bows described as 'certified' or 'attributed' include images of their certificates and therefore have a higher degree of documented certainty regarding maker, origin and age than instruments described only as 'labeled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we offer no guarantee whatsoever.
