Rudge - No. 2 - Bicycle - 1878

Original English velocipede, Rudge brand, 1878, patent 526 of 1878.

- Front wheel 130 cm and total length 160 cm.
- Cow-horn handlebar and wooden saddle.
- Frame in perfect condition.
- Needs a small restoration (tightening screws and repair of some spokes).

The Rudge velocipede was the fastest and most technically advanced of its time thanks to the quality of its components and the introduction of ball bearings in its axles (the famous patent 526). These innovations made the brand a myth that endured beyond the death of its founder under the name Rudge-Whitworth.
