Two Art Nouveau Valambert semi-crystal Luxval pressed-glass toilet garnitures by Val Saint Lambert (Belgium, Serraing), dating 1913–1935, comprising a ring holder (7.5 cm high) and a vide-poche (11.5 cm wide, 3.5 cm high) in yellow transparent glass.
Description from the seller
These objects are part of the 'Valambert' toilet set, produced by Val Saint Lambert within their Luxval series. The décor appears for the first time in the 1913 catalog and is reintroduced in the 1935 catalog, indicating a long-lasting and successful design.
The pieces (ring holder and coin tray) are made of semi-crystal (pressed glass), characteristic of Luxval: high-quality pressed glass with a luxurious appearance, intended as an affordable alternative to full crystal.
The design combines cut and pressed geometric motifs with a warm amber/yellow coloring, contrasting with clear glass. Characteristic are the vertical facets, diamond-shaped structures, and the elegant, symmetrical composition. Both feature a wavy edge, which enhances their decorative character.
These toilet fittings were used on dressing tables and typically consisted of multiple components such as bottles, jars, and trays.
The set is in excellent condition.
