Belle masque Belle patine magnifique masque 

Des oiseaux, animaux totémiques illustrés par un groupe de quatre, s'élèvent en scénette au sommet de ce masque africain du je. La chevelure finement travaillée, divisée en trois, constitue un indicateur de richesse. Le délicat modelé du visage, la patine lisse et satinée, révèlent le talent des sculpteurs d'art tribal africain de Côte d'Ivoire. Cet exemplaire nommé Anoman, Lomane, (oiseau en baoulé) fait partie du quatrième des sept masques je qui dansait à l'origine autour du défunt et se penchait jusqu'à le toucher dans un but purificateur. Il apparait aussi actuellement au cours de réjouissances. Les Yaouré sont un sous-groupe de la peuplade Akan présente en Côte d'Ivoire et au Ghana. Géographiquement proche des Baoulé et des Gouros, on ressent dans l'art yaouré l'influence de ces ethnies au travers du souci du détail et de l'esthétique. Les masques d'art africain Yaouré, ou Yauré, dont les Baoulé possèdent des modèles analogues, se divisent en deux groupes difficilement différenciables, les je, avec parfois adjonction de pigments colorés, et les lo, généralement à la patine sombre, qui interviennent au cours de cérémonies de funérailles ou tout autre rite afin de se concilier
