Description from the seller
Rare and unusual pair of tall-standing spiral glasses.
Of English origin from the second half of the 18th century.
Made of blown glass, cut, engraved, and gilded.
Tubular-shaped shafts, internally decorated with spirals in white tones, topped with inverted bell-shaped cups, richly adorned with carved vegetal garlands, interspersed with vertical bands ending in tassels, topped with pearl-like beads interwoven with stylized vegetal motifs, flanked by a concentric gold band, resting on circular-shaped repoussé bases.
They show signs of use, small wear on the gold, and minor flaws inside the rim of the cup and at the base.
Extremely rare and of a rare beauty.
