Description from the seller
1930s Cabana Style Glass Decanter Set – 1 Carafe & 5 Glasses
In excellent condition – No reserve.
A refined and stylish 1930s glass decanter set that captures the early roots of the Cabana aesthetic—where leisure met glamour in sun-drenched coastal retreats and poolside lounges. This rare hand blown glass set stands out through its textured green glass footwork paired with elegant, hand-applied gold pin-stripes (penstrepen) spiraling around the clear upper glass. These fine golden lines were often painted by hand in the 1930s to elevate otherwise minimalist glassware into fashionable decorative pieces for hotel terraces, beach clubs, and summer villas.
The decanter features a beautifully shaped stopper with a slender neck accentuated by a gold band. The four matching glasses share the same expressive green worked foot, showing an appealing organic surface texture that contrasts subtly with the precise gold striping above—an uncommon and visually balanced combination.

Historical Context
Cabana style finds its visual DNA in the interwar period, when seaside culture, poolside lounging, and outdoor leisure spaces became aspirational symbols of modern life. Although the term “Cabana style” itself rose to popularity later in the 1950s–60s, its first expressions—light, summery materials, nautical or coastal tones, hand-decorated glass, and lounge-focused tableware—already appeared in the 1930s across European resorts. This set embodies that spirit perfectly: glamorous, fresh, and designed to sparkle in bright natural light.
