Description from the seller

Set of 6 tall flute glasses measuring 24.5 x 5 x 5 cm and 6 shorter flute glasses measuring 22 x 4.2 cm, made of hand-cut transparent crystal. The label and the engraved mark are located acid-etched on the underside of the base, from the German manufacturer: Scherzer 1880, as indicated by the visible mark on the sticker. The other set is from the Italian manufacturer Rocco Bormioli. They feature a square design and a truncated cone shape. This item is suitable for collection or home decoration. History: The factory was founded in 1880 as Porzellanfabrik Zeh, Scherzer & Cie., initiated by Johann Nicol Adam Zeh, known as Hans, as a general partnership and was dissolved in 1992, acquired by the financial investor Allerthal-Werke under the name Scherzer & Co. AG. The factory building in Rehau around 1900.
The Bormioli family began to master the technical foundations of glassmaking around the year 1000, when in the Ligurian village of Altare, they established one of the most important glassmaking communities in Europe. The relationship between the Bormioli family, the art of glassmaking, and the city of Parma started in 1854, when brothers Domenico, Rocco, and Carlo Bormioli purchased the 'Royal Factory of Majolica and Glass' on Strada Farnese. Both entrepreneurs, Bormioli Rocco was founded in Parma in 1897 and died in 1974; Pier Luigi was born in Parma in 1929 and died in Milan in 1991. Rocco, the grandson and namesake of the founder, led the family business, giving it a historic turn: the traditional glassworking (by hand and blowing) was gradually converted into fully automated processes. A Knight of Labor, in the 1960s he effectively handed over the reins to his son Pier Luigi, who took over as general manager in 1966 and then as president in 1974, transforming the Bormioli group into one of the major players in the European glass industry.
He is the first entrepreneur from Parma to hire staff with disabilities and some discharged from the psychiatric hospital of Colorno. Upon his death, the presidency of the group passes to his eldest son Rocco, who operates alongside his three brothers and three cousins Tirelli (sons of Giuseppina Bormioli, Pier Luigi's sister).
