Elegant ceramic vase-bowl from Albisola, signed by Giuseppe Mazzotti, made in painted majolica in monochrome blue on a white background.
The slender shape, with a tall, flared neck and wavy rim, is enhanced by a shaped handle that recalls the tradition of ancient jugs.

The decoration, of great pictorial refinement, depicts a figurative scene of Renaissance/Baroque taste: a lady and a knight in period costumes, set in a coastal landscape with architecture in the background. The style is fine and narrative, typical of the historicist production of Albisola, with references to the tradition of ancient engravings and Ligurian ceramics from the 17th-18th centuries.
The circular foot is decorated with continuous landscape motifs and geometric borders, while the upper part features blue glazes that create depth and chromatic movement. The glazing is bright and well-preserved, with slight tonal variations that attest to the handcrafted workmanship.

Deed signed by Giuseppe Mazzotti (1908–1980), a central figure of the renowned Manifattura Mazzotti in Albisola, known for blending Ligurian ceramic tradition with 20th-century artistic research.
