The service is considered a collectible item. Ironstone was invented by Mason's in 1813, and the earliest examples bear their mark. The multicolored version of the Watteau pattern is highly sought after and more difficult to find. The colorful design is very charming, and the scene is picturesque, featuring a group of French people enjoying a musical interlude in a park-like setting with tall trees. It is part of a personal collection of an interior designer and would look great in a home! Condition: Interrupted. Produced in the first decade of the 20th century.
