Gabriele D'Annunzio's Juvenilia is a one‑volume, limited edition miniature leather‑bound book in Italian, published in Firenze by G. Barbera, dating from 1925, with 362 pages and a cassette, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Gabriele D'Annunzio's 'Juvenilia' refers to his earliest literary works, particularly his first published poetry and prose from his youth (around his sixteenth year and beyond), showcasing his early talent, linguistic innovation, and themes such as beauty, love, and sensuality. These works led to a sensational, debt-ridden career in fin-de-siècle Italy. It includes his first poetry collections and early novels, establishing him as a prominent, controversial figure in Italian literature.
This book, a miniature edition, is especially rare and unique, partly because of its size.
The booklet has a beautiful full leather binding with a title and rich tooling in gold engraved on the spine and covers, framed by gilded edges (very light signs of use), red cut-outs, 363 pages, and is in excellent condition.
On the flyleaf, a portrait photograph of the author with a facsimile of his signature (1922).
Rare miniature edition of a collection of verses by the famous poet from his youth.
Excellent copy, stored in a cardboard case.
