AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Up for auction is a nice old vintage full size french violin for professional musician or collector. The label says: Georges Chanot quai malaquais 1 a Paris annee 1835. The softly flamed two pieces maple back measures 355 mm. The total length of the violin is 592 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 167 mm; middle bouts: 111 mm; lower bouts: 209 mm. There are some tears and wears but no cracks. Original golden brown varnish. The violin has new rosewood set up, new bridge and new strings. This tonally extremely interesting instrument is now ready to play, and i recommend it highly for its large, warm, deep sound full of typically french character. If you have any questions, or need additional photos, please don't hesitate to contact me. Shipping worldwide insured

Violins and bows described as 'certified' or 'attributed' include images of their certificates and are therefore considered to have a higher degree of documented certainty regarding maker, origin, and age than instruments described only as 'labelled' (violins) or 'stamped' (bows), for which we provide no guarantee of any kind.
