Pair of decorative bookends featuring reclining deer, cast in Zamac alloy with a bronze patina, dating from 1950–1960, each about 16.5 × 14.5 × 5.5 cm and together weighing roughly 3 kg, in good overall condition with a small ear loss on one deer.
Description from the seller
Pair of decorative bookends with reclining deer – Patinated alloy (zamak) in bronze style – 20th century
Elegant pair of decorative bookends featuring lying deer, finely molded, accompanied by a back panel decorated with stylized botanical motifs.
The set is inspired by the naturalist and hunting aesthetic, highly appreciated in classic interiors, libraries, or offices.
The pieces are made of a metal alloy type Zamak, with a bronze-colored patina, offering a warm and decorative appearance. The anatomical details of the animals, the realistic posture, and the vegetal decor attest to careful mold-making craftsmanship.
The overall condition is good considering the age. Transparently, a small missing part on the ear of one of the stags is noted, visible in the photographs. This slight imperfection does not affect the stability or the overall aesthetic of the set.
A beautiful decorative object, ideal for holding books while bringing a refined and natural touch to your interior.
