A Japanese Iga ware tea bowl (chawan), appreciated for its rustic clay body, natural ash effects, and earthy glaze, embodying the aesthetics of wabi-sabi central to the Japanese tea ceremony.
This bowl displays organic firing marks and subtle variations typical of Iga ware, giving it a strong material presence and an understated, calm atmosphere.
It comes with its original wooden storage box (tomobako) bearing a handwritten inscription. The title written on the box is “Fuyuka (Winter Flower)”.
The maker is unknown, and the work is valued for its form, texture, and traditional character rather than artist attribution.
