The old domino game was invented in China around the year 1120, where it was used as a forecasting system around the thirteenth century.
It was later introduced in Italy, probably in Venice around the 18th century, and then spread to France and the rest of Europe.
Its name, domino, comes from the Latin Dominus, which means “master”, while in France the term denotes a hooded cloak with a white mask.
The box and pieces are very old and entirely handmade. There is about 35 pieces. There are some pieces who needs a little glue.
Because of its old age, it may naturally be missing some pieces.
