Franz Marc (1880 - 1916)
He was a German painter, draftsman, and graphic artist. He is considered one of the most important painters of Expressionism in Germany. Alongside Wassily Kandinsky, he was a co-founder of the editorial community 'Der Blaue Reiter', which opened its first exhibition in Munich on December 18, 1911. Der Blaue Reiter emerged from the Neue Künstlervereinigung München, of which Marc was briefly a member. He wrote art-theoretical essays for the almanac 'Der Blaue Reiter' and other publications.
The Dream (1912)
This original lithograph is closely related to the famous art magazine Derrière le Miroir (DLM). In 1962, Galerie Maeght dedicated issues 133–134 to the group 'Der Blaue Reiter'.
