Hand-painted Russian lacquer box from the Palekh school, titled “Forest Maiden” (Лесная дева) and signed by the artist E. Krasnova. The composition depicts a poetic folkloric female figure surrounded by forest animals and birds, symbolizing harmony with nature. Executed in traditional Palekh technique using tempera paint and fine gold detailing on a deep black lacquer background.
