Description from the seller

Set of 6 crystal long drink glasses marked underneath the base: Baccarat Harcourt model, Versailles cut. Renowned for its iconic design, characterized by its architectural shape: an extraordinary form with a flat-cut pattern on the bowl and beveled hexagonal geometry. The artisanal craftsmanship is evident in every detail of its regal and elegant shape. Drinking from an 1841 Harcourt glass means participating in the brand's history and an elegant past, produced in the 1960s/70s. Description: Cut panel design on the bowl, multi-faceted foot. Condition: Active. Current: 1841. The Baccarat glassworks was founded in 1765 by the Bishop of Metz, who aimed to promote industry in the small village of Baccarat, 400 kilometers east of Paris, France. The Sainte Anne glassworks in Baccarat produced all kinds of common glassware (windows, bottles, tableware) and survived the French Revolution (1789), but faced the Napoleonic wars (1812-1815). The shifting European borders after the wars moved the large French glassworks of Voneche, in northern France, into the newly formed Belgium. The owner of Voneche, a Parisian named Aime-Gabriel D'Artigues, purchased the Baccarat glassworks to relaunch his business in France and continue serving French clients without paying heavy import duties. The new Voneche-Baccarat company focused on high-quality lead crystal production. In 1822, D'Artigues sold the glassworks, and the new owners founded the Compagnie des Cristalleries de Baccarat (keeping Voneche as part of the name until 1843). After winning medals at major Paris exhibitions in 1823, the company soon became (and remains) France's leading glassmaker. Today, the town of Baccarat is almost exclusively dedicated to glassworking, with factories, museums, and shops, and has become a tourist destination for visitors worldwide. Dimensions: height 14 cm x diameter 7 cm.
