Use the touchpad to control the effects in real time.

With the KAOSS PAD series, you can fully control the effects in real-time through the touchpad. Different Effect Parameters are assigned to the x-axis and y-axis of the touchpad and can be controlled simultaneously, meaning you can vary the delay time and feedback at the same time, or change the cutoff and resonance of a filter concurrently. This allows complex effect manipulations, which would otherwise require two hands on a conventional knob-based controller, to be performed easily and intuitively with just one hand. It is also easy to apply complex effects by rubbing or tapping the pad with your fingertip, as if you were playing a musical instrument.

A small size is used in a variety of situations.

The mini-KP features the smallest enclosure in the KAOSS PAD series. It can be operated on batteries and offers a belt attachment hole for easy portability. This means you can now use the KAOSS PAD series in a unique and intuitive one-finger operation with a wide range of instruments or sound sources, in an even greater variety of situations. Here are some examples.

DJ practice at home or DJ performances in a club.
Performances with synthesizers or other instruments (indoor or outdoor).

The mini-KP contains a total of one hundred effects, many derived from the larger KP3, including filter, delay, and a looper, which cover a wide range of musical styles. It features a low/high-band pass filter that allows you to cut specific frequency ranges to add variety to a song, a decimator that deliberately degrades the input audio quality to give a unique influence on the sound, a highly requested delay and reverb combination effect, a looper and pitch shifter that capture and repeat incoming audio, retuning in real-time as the pad is manipulated, synthesizer sounds derived from the KP3—and many more effects that can dramatically transform the sound.

BPM effects and an FX RELEASE function for natural-sounding effect transitions within a track.

You can detect the TAP/BPM button to synchronize the BPM (tempo) and the mini-KP with an audio input source, then benefit from the many BPM effects that are synchronized to your songs or performances—an excellent way to use effects. There is also an FX RELEASE function that gradually fades out the effect sound when you lift your finger from the pad effects or change them. This makes it easy to incorporate the mini-KP's overflow effects into your performances and songs.*1 *1: some effect programs do not support the FX release function.

The hold function allows you to access the effect settings at a given moment, and memory sticks that recall your favorite settings.

When you press the pad to apply an effect, you can freeze the effect settings at any desired moment using the Hold function. There is also a Memory Key feature that allows you to remember the selected effect program, the Hold on/off status, and the effect depth. You can save your favorite effect settings at any time for instant recall, enabling you to boldly transform the character of your songs or performances.
