Iron (wrought) - Japan - Edo Period (1600-1868)

This is the tsuba (guard) of a Japanese sword from the Edo period. It appears to me to have the inscription "金家" stamped on it, but it's difficult to read. The iron body is decorated with copper and silver. I think the design of monks crossing a bridge is beautiful. There is some rust and minor scratches overall due to age. It weighs 136g.
