The glaze is exceptional, transitioning from deep emerald green to warm amber, typical of the high quality Black forest style ceramics made from Zell or Schramberg. Each plate is stamped made in Germany and impressed with mold number 176 on the reverse, dating them to the early 20th century ( c. 1900-1930). The transluscent glazing creates a jewel-like finish that makes these perfect for both wall display and elegant serving.
