Description from the seller
Decorative Engraved Silver-Plated Metal Box – circa 1900
Decorative metal box with a domed lid, originating from Europe, dating to around 1900. The piece is crafted in silver-plated metal, richly engraved with elaborate rococo and floral motifs, typical for the late 19th to early 20th century decorative arts.
The box is marked “250”, engraved on the back and on each side of the lid. This marking is likely a production number or workshop mark, rather than a silver hallmark, which is consistent with decorative silver-plated objects from this period.
The hinged lid opens smoothly and the box stands on a decorative beaded base. The surface displays an original aged patina, with light wear and surface marks consistent with age and use, which enhance its authentic antique character.
