John Milton/Gustave Dore - Il Paradiso Perduto - 1881

Valuable Italian edition of Paradise Lost by John Milton, featuring 50 beautiful illustrations by Dore, published by Sonzogno in 1881. The work is in fair condition, with binding showing signs of wear along the edges and corners, especially on the spine with minor losses, slight wear on the endpapers, front cover slightly fragile when opened but pages are well attached and secure, uniform browning of the paper especially at the beginning and end, with lighter areas in the middle, illustrations in excellent condition, some stains but the text is largely readable. There are some small repairs with white adhesive tape along the margins of some pages—see photos. A rare find.
