Fiat 500 C Belvedere, 1952.
Description from the seller
GENERAL
The 1952 Fiat 500 C Belvedere is one of the most emblematic cars of post-war Italian reconstruction, belonging to the famous “Topolino” (Mouse). The “Belvedere” model, originally introduced in 1951 to replace the previous “Giardiniera Legno” variant, marked a major revolution by adopting an entirely steel-bodied station wagon construction, moving away from wooden and ash structural sections to ensure far greater durability and modernity. This version historically features a front-mounted inline-4 engine, 569 cc with OHV heads, capable of delivering around 16.5 horsepower, paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. One of its most distinctive and charming features is the canvas sunroof that opens over a large portion of the cabin.
It is an operational classic, ready to drive, ideal for collectors and enthusiasts seeking the elegance of 1950s Italian engineering. The model is highly popular at historical events and exhibitions, offering a nostalgic and authentic driving experience.
BODYWORK AND PAINT
The vehicle presents in very good overall condition, showing a well-aligned body with no visual signs of structural damage or relevant past accidents. The paint remains well preserved, displaying a uniform shine and a natural wear level perfectly compatible with the vehicle’s advanced age. The chrome elements, decorative trims and original brand emblems are in good preservation, helping to underline and reinforce the car’s classic and refined character. The wheels and tires are also in good condition, contributing directly to a cared-for, clean, and historically correct aesthetic presentation.
MECHANICS
Mechanically, the car is functioning correctly and appears ready for use. The engine starts well even when cold and runs smoothly, without abnormal noises or rattles, indicating good overall performance for a utility vehicle built in the early 1950s. The manual gearbox engages smoothly and precisely, with no gear selection difficulties or unexpected jumps. The clutch system performs its function effectively, without slipping under strain, and the drum brakes respond safely and effectively, remaining appropriate to the driving style and the normal dynamic limitations of that era.
INTERIOR
The cabin is very well preserved, faithfully maintaining the original appearance and layout designed by Fiat. The upholstery is in good used condition, without significant tears or frayed seams, while the decorative door panels and other interior coverings remain perfectly intact. The dashboard, the classic steering wheel, and all other manual controls are well preserved, with the instruments clearly legible and functional. Overall, the interior environment reflects the care of a valued car that has been used with due caution over the years.
COLLECTION / DELIVERY
The vehicle is available for collection in Fazendas do Cortiço, Portugal. Costs associated with transport, shipping logistics, or details about potential delivery to other regions should be properly agreed between the seller and the buyer.

Catawiki always aims to offer you the best possible buying experience. Our experts virtually review and select every vehicle in line with our submission guidelines and we require our sellers to provide the most accurate description of the vehicle. However, providing a fully detailed analysis of the vehicle is extremely difficult, and close to impossible. To guide you, we ask our sellers to provide information about the vehicle’s condition. Please consider that most vehicles for sale are classic vehicles and they often already have a whole life behind them, meaning that even a condition 1 or 2 vehicle might need maintenance to be ready for the road. It is advised to carefully read our submission guidelines that further describe details about the condition grades and types to manage your expectations. Cars are sold “as is”, meaning as described and in the condition they are in at the time of the sale and without any representation, warranty or assumption of liability of any kind as to the condition by Catawiki or by the seller. The condition of this item is the opinion of the seller and may differ from yours, your local garage, or the dealer’s opinion. This does not automatically mean the car does not conform to its description. Before bidding, please check your local legislation regarding vehicle registration. Neither the seller nor Catawiki is responsible for the registration of the vehicle in your country and will not accept a cancellation for your failure to register the vehicle. We also recommend that, if possible, you arrange a viewing with the seller before placing a bid.
