The name Cu Bocan is reminiscent of the legendary hellhound that roams the moors around Tomatin. For whisky connoisseurs, the name Cu Bocan has long been synonymous with lightly peated Highland single malt whisky from Tomatin. With the Bourbon Cask Tomatin, the distillery combines two very popular whisky characters. The sweet and aromatic bourbon notes are paired with gentle smoke. The Tomatin Cu Bocan Bourbon Cask is a No Age Statement Whisky. It is produced at 315 meters above sea level, in the Scottish Highlands. When the Tomatin distillery filed for bankruptcy, a Japanese company took over the company so that traditional work could continue on its way. At Tomatin, the spirit of innovation is a top priority. The Cu Bocan bottlings, such as the Tomatin Cu Bocan Bourbon Cask, are excellent examples of the house's love of experimentation. Cu Bocan Bourbon Cask with 46 % ABV. Color: Light amber. Nose: First, the sweetness of toffee and honey appears. The light smoke in the background, which occurs again and again, slowly lets notes of pineapple and pears emerge. However, for this limited edition release, the lightly peated single malt has been fully matured in virgin oak casks. Just 6,000 bottles were produced for the second release in a series highlighting the individual cask styles that go to make Cù Bòcan.
