Bob Dylan - Poems - 2025

In 2016, American singer-songwriter Bob Dylan (pseudonym of Robert Zimmermann) received the Nobel Prize in Literature. Not so much because of compiling an extensive body of work, but according to the jury, 'for creating new poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.' You can't make this up.

Dylan also wrote poems and texts that he did not set to music or that were not set to music by others. Texts that appear everywhere – in speeches, on album covers, in program brochures, and in letters – but were never issued separately.

The collectible booklet in this lot can thus be considered historically significant. It contains a selection from an obviously much larger range of poems and texts by Dylan that have never been published in book form. It appeared very fittingly in the pop temple Paradiso during the former Beurs van Kleine Uitgevers. The responsible publisher was the obscure Hijgh & Vanditmag, which only brought 99 copies into existence.
