Description from the seller
Pair of Decorative Porcelain Cachepots / Vases – Late 19th / Early 20th Century
Charming pair of small decorative porcelain cachepots, finely modelled and hand-painted in soft polychrome enamels, depicting a young romantic couple in period attire. The figures are set in high relief against shell-shaped backdrops, richly adorned with bows and floral motifs, creating a harmonious and elegant composition.
The delicate pastel colour palette—featuring shades of pink, green, lilac and white—is characteristic of European decorative porcelain from the late 19th to early 20th century, reflecting Rococo revival influences and the ornamental taste of the period.
Each piece features a functional upper opening, allowing use as small vases or planters, while also being perfectly suited as decorative objects for a console, shelf or wall display. The sculptural work shows a pleasing level of detail, particularly in the facial expressions, clothing and floral elements.
Condition:
Good overall condition considering age, with expected signs of wear and gentle ageing.
Height: 10
Dimension: 10x8.0cm
