Bracelet - Burkina Faso

A distinctive bronze bracelet decorated with three chameleons.

The chameleon is an intriguing animal and has two facets. The positive aspect (day) tells us that the chameleon is extremely cautious and straightforward.
He takes on the color of his surroundings; he therefore adapts to the circumstances.
But there is also the negative side (night); there, the chameleon does symbolize hypocrisy, slowness, stubbornness.

Because of this ambiguity, the chameleon is also regarded as a bearer of bad news. Women in the fields also have holy fear of these small reptiles. To make this little creature favorable as a protector, it is often worn as a bracelet, ring, or pendant with a chameleon, especially by children.
