Liquor D.O.M Bénèdictine (3 Bottles) Elaborado en Pasajes (España) por la Sociedad Bénèdictine Alcohol: 43% n/a 75cl Weight: 1,600 Kg, 1,585 Kg & 1,560 Kg "Bénédictine is a herbal liqueur produced in France. Its recipe includes twenty-seven plants and spices. In 1510, at the Fécamp Abbey of the Benedictine order in Normandy, a monk named Dom Bernardo Vincelli developed the recipe for an aromatic elixir. The drink was produced at the abbey until the recipe was lost during the turbulent times the abbey experienced during the French Revolution. In 1863, Alexandre le Grand rediscovered the recipe and began producing the liqueur under the brand name "Bénédictine"; The company he founded continued to produce the liquor to this day. The recipe is a highly protected trade secret that is only known to three people. Many people have tried and failed to develop similar recipes, so much so that at its headquarters in Fécamp the company has a "Hall of Counterfeits" (Salon de Contrefaçons) where bottles of failed attempts by supposed competitors are displayed. The manufacturing process includes several distillations, which are then mixed."
