Pair of Art Nouveau vases in hand-blown and enameled glass with gilded details, School of Nancy, circa 1850–1900, from France; about 33 cm tall with a 13 cm width and 12 cm depth.
Description from the seller
Pair of large Art Nouveau glass vases, blown and enameled glass – Nancy School, circa 1900
Important pair of Art Nouveau vases made of hand-blown glass, with a frosted/opalescent surface and rich embossed painted floral decoration, enhanced with gold details.
The vases feature a slender shape, a slightly moved mouth finished with heat, and hand-applied painterly decorations, with slight differences between the two specimens that attest to their artisanal craftsmanship.
The different weight and shape irregularities confirm non-serial production.
The technique, decorative language, and chromatic rendering are attributable to the Nancy school, with characteristics similar to the production of Legras manufactory, and possible Central European influences (Loetz).
Period: early 20th century, circa 1900–1910
Origin: France (Nancy school)
Material: blown and glazed glass with gilding.
Good overall condition; normal signs of aging consistent with the age.
Dimensions: about 33 cm in height.
Weight 686 one and 616 grams the other.
Decorative objects with a strong visual impact, ideal for Art Nouveau glass collectors or high-end Liberty style furnishings.
