Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Erard piano from 1870, origin United Kingdom, 114 cm high, 153 cm long, weight 150 kg, wood (rootwood) with walnut veneer, in very good condition, tested and working, includes a piano stool.
Description from the seller
This beautifully crafted Erard piano comes from London and was built in 1870. The piano features fine ornaments and a walnut burl veneer finish. The sound is typical of its era, intimate and restrained. Perfect for smaller spaces.
A few years ago, the piano in Germany was completely restored:
- new strings
- new stamp pens
- new hammer heads
- new damping felt
- the ivory key covering has been replaced with plastic
The piano is finished with a modern lacquer.
The comb is in excellent condition.
Fine cracks are visible in the sound block and on the soundboard, but they do not affect the tone. Larger cracks were filled during restoration.
Tuned to 432 Hz.
Pianos from this period are more sensitive than modern pianos due to their construction, and therefore require more tuning sessions to achieve an optimal tuning. A short report by piano technician Jonno van den Beuken can be seen with the photos.
For the transport, I would be happy to arrange a carrier.
