Description from the seller
Lapis lazuli talisman ring – Iranian archer of Central Asia
Ring with strong symbolic and historical significance, originating from the Central Asian region (Afghanistan / Turkmenistan).
The gemstone in natural lapis lazuli, of an intensely deep blue, is finely engraved with the figure of an armed archer, who wields a bow and dagger: a powerful archetype of ancient Iranian tradition, associated with protection, strength, and authority.
This iconography was typical of seals and personal amulets, worn as a sign of identity and as a talisman. The choice of lapis lazuli is particularly significant: this stone, mined for millennia in the Afghan Badakhshan region, was considered precious and symbolically powerful already in antiquity.
The silver setting, solid and richly decorated, enhances the engraved gem and gives the ring a bold, dramatic appearance. The result is an object with timeless charm, halfway between jewelry, an amulet, and an ethnographic collectible.
