Vintage Art Deco table lamp in brass and plexiglass, dating from 1970–1980, in good used condition and in working order.
Description from the seller
It's a very beautiful piece! Based on the photos, it appears to be a vintage Art Deco-style table lamp, combining Lucite (plexiglass) and brass, probably dating from the 1970s or 1980s.
This style corresponds to the 'Hollywood Regency' trend, which was very fashionable at that time, where designers used massive transparent materials to create a luxurious and light effect.
Features of your lamp:
Materials: It features a central block in beveled Lucite embedded in a structure in golden brass. The base is a thick, transparent acrylic stand.
The ringed or striped details on the sides and at the collar are typical patterns of the reinterpretation of Art Deco in the 1970s.
Technical condition: The power cord and the white switch (a classic toggle model) appear to be typical of European electrical equipment from that era.
Possible origins:
Even without a visible signature, this type of high-end lighting fixture was the specialty of certain major design houses, particularly in France and Italy.
Maison Jansen (France): Very well known for this blend of gold metal and plexiglass.
Romeo Rega (Italy): Celebrated for his geometric shapes and the use of brass.
Charles Hollis Jones: Often nicknamed 'the pioneer of acrylic.'
The given dimensions
Only the base is included without the lamp post.
