Rare ceramic vase by Molaroni Pesaro, designed by Antonio Lani, 16 cm high, 21 cm wide, 10 cm deep, black glaze with earthy tones, dating to the 1950s (ca. 1953–1957), in excellent vintage condition with only light signs of wear.

Rare vase/pitcher by Molaroni, Pesaro — Antonio Lani — 16 cm high
Description:
A splendid example of 20th-century artistic ceramics, produced by the prestigious Molaroni manufactory in Pesaro from a design by Master Antonio Lani.
The piece is characterized by a unique textural glaze, with effects reminiscent of natural, primordial textures. The vibrant colors (ochre yellow, turquoise, and earth tones) contrast magnificently with the interior and the base, glazed in glossy black.

Antonio Lani
Sculptor and ceramist Antonio Lani, twin brother of Paolo, who is also a ceramist, was born in Lyon, France, in 1932.
He learns the basics of modeling from his father, a foundryman.
In 1940 the family moved to Pesaro, and there, together with his brother, he attended the local School of Art.
Subsequently he continues his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna and at the Magistero in Florence, where he earns the teaching qualification.
From 1953, the two brothers began collaborating with the ceramic manufacturer Molaroni.
In 1957 he moved to the Franceschini ceramic factory.
In 1958 he moved to the Pesaro factory 'Giardini' and again to the 'Baratti' factory.
In 1961 he moves to Rimini, where he works at the ceramic manufactory “Stella Alpina”.
In 1967 he devoted himself to engraving and repoussé on copper at Studio Laurana, and from 1972 he held the professorship in plastic arts at the Istituto d'Arte di Lecce.
