Lenie van den Bulk (1953) Borders, a 2012 hand signed oil painting in a multicolour abstract landscape, original edition, 80 cm by 100 cm, 3 kg, excellent condition, Netherlands.
Description from the seller
Lenie van den Bulk studied at the Willem de Koning Academy in Rotterdam (1980-1984). She exhibited many times in the Netherlands and a few times abroad.
Her oil-paintings are colourful and outspoken. Next to finely worked parts, there are rougher parts that form a mutual contrast. Her artwork is mainly evocative, with the use of colour, form and rhythm she express experiences, thoughts, and memories that have a meaning for herself, and possibly also for the spectator. She usually starts a painting without a predetermined plan and is guided by her intuition and what happens on the canvas.
This painting was inspired by the fact that landscapes are defined by bounderies and borders that are not natural, intended to keep people out.
