Description from the seller
Italian sculpture by Ottaviani from the 1980s with a 'dolphin clock' clad in silver,
The work is signed with “Ottaviani”.
Ottaviani, a renowned company that since 1945 specializes in precious metals processing, is still one of the Italian brands that has successfully combined artisanal expertise with large-scale production, thus embracing the values of the Arts and Crafts movement of the late 19th century. According to this movement, art should be accessible to everyone, while the handiwork of artisans should be preserved and applied arts should receive the same dignity as other art forms. Influenced by this late-19th-century principle, Ottaviani created product lines ranging from goldsmithing pieces to refined household articles, created through the collaboration of artists and artisans.
