Pair of two 800 silver seal stamp handles, made in Italy and dating from the 1960s, with refined floral and Liberty-style engravings, each different yet harmoniously matched, internally filled with mastice and bases prepared to receive a matrix.
Description from the seller
Pair of handles for seal stamp in stamped 800 silver – Italy, early 20th century
Refined pair of handles for a seal stamp made of solid silver 800, as confirmed by the hallmark present. Both pieces, crafted with exquisite artisanal workmanship, represent two different interpretations of the decorative style of the period.
The objects feature refined floral motifs and scrolls in Liberty style, finely chased in relief. The decorations are different from each other, making the pair not identical but harmoniously matched, a characteristic typical of artisanal craftsmanship or creative reuse of antique elements.
The sinuous lines and carved work highlight the brilliance of the silver and demonstrate a high-level attention to detail.
Both handles are internally filled with putty, as is traditional in ancient craftsmanship, to provide strength and a balanced weight. The bases are prepared to hold the engraved matrix in brass or hard stone, which is currently absent, but in the past would have completed the personal or family seals.
Authentic and highly charming objects, ideal as desk accessories, for collectors of silverware or enthusiasts of antique writing instruments.
