Georges Braque (1882 - 1963) - Frontispiece (The Rooster) and Still Life. - First edition lithograph from Verve Vol. VII, Numbers 27 and 28 - printed by Mourlot - Lithograph - 1952/1953

Frontispiece and still life lithographs were created on commission from the Parisian publisher Verve and are unique in their 1952 double edition. Both sides of the parchment paper were used for printing, resulting in the black-and-white still life lithograph being printed on the back of the color frontispiece lithograph. The still life is signed with the monogram 'G.B.' by Georges Braque in stone. These two original lithographs are striking works by the renowned French artist Georges Braque.

The lithographs Frontispice and Still Life by George Braque were created on commission for the Parisian publisher Verve and included in a double edition. For printing, both sides of sturdy, woven paper were used, resulting in the black-and-white lithograph Still Life being depicted on the back of the color lithograph Frontispice. Still Life is signed with Georges Braque's monogram 'G.B.', engraved into the stone. These two original lithographs are striking, authentic examples of the famous Cubist art by the French artist Georges Braque.
