Morin & Bost – Degué | Art Deco table lamp in nickel-plated wrought iron and pâte de verre, catalogued model, ca. 1930
Exceptional French Art Deco table lamp, made circa 1930, resulting from the collaboration between Morin & Bost (Lyon) for the nickel-plated wrought iron base, and Degué (David Guéron) for the pâte de verre glass shade.
Base
Nickel-plated wrought iron base, hammered and decorated with circular bands, resting on a square base with four ball feet, with uprights adorned with relief medallions.
Very high-quality craftsmanship, corresponding to a documented model by the Morin & Bost workshops in Lyon, designed by Ravaud (see period catalogue archive photo), originally marketed with Degué or Sonover glassware.
No loss of decoration; all welds are intact and the structure is in perfect condition.
The support is perfectly matched to the diameter of the glass shade.
The metal has been brushed and waxed, showing a beautiful original patina.
Glass shade
Thick pâte de verre tulip shade, in a light powder pink color, corresponding to a documented Degué model, never signed.
Impeccable condition, with no cracks or damage.
Electrical system
Rewired: original brass socket for a small E14 screw bulb.
The cable, plug and switch are new.
This antique lamp is fully functional.
