Lenie van den Bulk Born in 1953 in Berkel en Rodenrijs Education: Academy of Visual Arts Rotterdam from 1980 – 1984 From 1984 she often exhibited in the Netherlands and several times abroad. Her paintings are usually very colorful and often in large format. In addition to finely worked out parts, there are rougher parts that form a mutual contrast. She depicts her experiences, thoughts and memories with colour, shape and rhythm. _ “Lenie van den Bulk has developed a strong personal idiom that is difficult to place at first. However, if you look at her older work, you will see that this artist has built a bridge between pre-war German and Dutch expressionism and the work of various American abstract expressionists. Nice to know, but not necessary; her paintings do have their own visual language and have developed into autonomous, complex, but clear images. Van den Bulk has a gigantic arsenal of visual means to express himself.
