Description from the seller
A superb and imposing Belgian decorative bowl made of pressed molded glass, in a warm, deep amber color. Its elegant shape, known as the “lotus” or stylized flower, features curled petals and two large, curved, very graphic handles.
A typical piece of Belgian design from the 1930s, massive and highly decorative.
Dimensions :
- Total length from handle to handle: 34 cm
- Total height: 19 cm
- Maximum cutting width: approximately 16 cm
- Impressive weight: 1.6 kg (testifies to a very thick and high-quality glass)
The luminous amber hue beautifully captures the light; perfect for a party table, a sideboard, a console, or a display cabinet.
- Good overall condition with a nice original shine.
- A small discreet sparkle on the foot (barely visible once applied)
- Small chip under the left handle
The two handles show a visible crack line in their lower part (old and stabilized, probably related to manufacturing or slight glass tension). The whole remains perfectly solid, holds very well and presents no risk of breakage under normal use.
There are no other cracks, chips, or notable wear on the main body of the cup.
Unsigned / unknown brand (common for this type of Belgian mass-market production from the Trente Glorieuses).
A style reminiscent of certain Belgian glassworks of the era or broader European influences.
A beautiful, characterful object with a strong presence, ideal for lovers of vintage colored glass, Belgian mid-century pieces, and statement items—despite their small signs of wear.
Very faithful photos – sold as is, without restoration.
Very secure packaging and shipping are imperative (heavy and fragile item).
Great opportunity for an authentic Belgian retro-chic touch!
