Decoding DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby TrueHD, and Dolby Digital Plus
This amplifier handles the new high-definition audio streams contained on HD-DVD and Blu-ray discs. These technologies allow lossless playback of the recording as it was mastered in the studio. It can receive these signals from the compatible HD players: Blu-ray player, PlayStation 3, HD DVD player and Xbox 360.
HDMI 1.4 standard
The HDMI 1.4 standard adds to the specifications of previous revisions compatibility with 3D video streams, audio return, and an Ethernet link in particular. Note that the presence of an HDMI 1.4 connector on a device does not guarantee the implementation of all these technologies. Indeed, only support for 3D is implicit; the rest is optional. The Audio Return Channel (ARC or audio return) allows the amplifier to decode the sound from a TV that is compatible via a single HDMI cable. Using an S/PDIF cable is therefore no longer mandatory. The Ethernet Channel (or Ethernet channel) enables a device connected via its RJ45 port to a box, for example, to extend the wired network through the HDMI connection. This flexibility avoids having to use other Ethernet cables to access the Internet from the other devices in the setup (TV, Blu-ray player, amplifier, multimedia hard drive, etc.). The HDMI 1.4 standard is capable of supporting resolutions four times higher than 1920 x 1080, reaching up to 4096 x 2160 pixels at 24 fps (4K standard). Finally, the color space is extended, with support for sYCC601, Adobe RGB and Adobe YCC601 standards, for even richer and more realistic color reproduction.
